Dear Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar,
The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee Civil Practice & Court Liaison Committee (“KLBC CPCLC”) has received feedback from the Kuala Lumpur Courts that there are lawyers who do not comply with the stipulated dress code when attending Court matters at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex.
On 22 June 2022, we had issued a circular regarding Court attire and reminded members to comply with the guidelines issued by the Chief Registrar on 1 November 2000.
We would like to re-emphasise that members must adhere to the dress code guidelines (available here for ease of reference) and wear the appropriate attire when attending to Court matters at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex.
