Standard Operating Procedure To Apply For Notes of Proceedings

Circular No: 073/2022
Date: 20 June 2022

Dear Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar,

We have received feedback from members that there have been discrepancies in the directions issued by the Civil Courts in respect of obtaining notes of proceedings from the Courts.

We have written to the Court seeking clarification on the Standard Operating Procedure (“SOP”) for making an application for notes of proceedings.

Kindly be informed that the Court has responded that the application for the notes of proceedings and/or recording of the proceedings, where relevant, can be done online on the eCourt Portal, subject to the Court’s approval. Click here for step-by-step guidelines for obtaining the notes of proceedings and the form to request a copy of the recording of the proceedings.

Please also note that it is not mandatory for the notes of proceedings to be prepared by the Court interpreters. Members or litigants are free to prepare their own transcripts and/or engage a third party to prepare the same.

A copy of the feedback from the Court can be found here for further information.
