Dear members of the Bar,
The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee is aware of rampant touting activity within the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex.
Touting is a criminal offence under Section 15A of the Minor Offences Act 1955 and is also a breach of Rule 51 of the Legal Profession (Practice & Etiquette) Rules 1978.
We would like to take proactive steps to curb touting. We need your help to do this. If any of you have direct information pertaining to any touting activity, please click here to provide the information. Please be assured that all information provided will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
We strictly remind/advise any member of the Bar who practises touting and/or engage touts to solicit for briefs to immediately cease such practice. The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee will not hesitate to take legal action against anyone involved in any activity that lowers the dignity of the legal profession. Members are reminded to maintain the highest standards of integrity at all times.
