PD No. 1 Of 2022 : Guidelines On Filing Of Orders And Judgments

Circular No: 186/2023
Date: 14 December 2023

Dear Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar,

The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee has received feedback from the Kuala Lumpur Court that there are instances of lawyers repeatedly contacting the relevant officers to process Court documents on an immediate basis.

We would like to remind members that Court officers have up to four (4) working days to process the documents (as provided in the Chief Justice of Malaysia’s Practice Direction No. 1 of 2022).

However, in cases of urgent applications and/or orders, members are advised to contact the Court officers directly and explain the urgency for the same when requesting for the processing of the said documents to be expedited.

Please note that it is at the discretion of the Court officer on whether the matter is urgent so as to require the processing of the documents to be expedited.
