The late Dev Anand was born on 18 February 1957 and was the holder of the degree of Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Studies from Kingston Polytechnic, England. He also obtained the Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Polytechnic of Central London and thereafter pursued the Bar examination at the Council of Legal Education. He was admitted to the English Bar on 25 November 1986. He served his pupillage under Dato’ Dr Cyrus Das pf Shook Lin & Bok and upon his admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court on 9 April 1988, joined the said firm as a legal assistant.
To those who knew him, he was in every respect a gentleman and an amiable friend. He was a foe to none and carried out his tasks in a quiet way.
The late Dev Anand was only 32 years old when he passed away on 17 September 1989. He will be sadly missed but vividly remembered by his colleagues and contemporaries.
