It is not the intention of KLBC or the KL Bar Website to render any legal advice or deal with queries respecting any matters or issues currently pending before any courts or subject to any form of legal proceedings whether within or without Malaysia.
Articles, reports and surveys reflect the views of the individuals that prepared them and, unless indicated expressly in the text, do not necessarily reflect or represent the position of the KLBC or any of its committees.

By using the KL Bar Website, you have unconditionally warranted and undertaken to the KLBC that you will not use the KL Bar Website or any of its contents for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by the Terms and Conditions. If you violate any of the Terms and Conditions, your permission to use and access the KL Bar Website automatically terminates in which case you shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless KLBC from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and liabilities, including reasonable solicitors’ fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your acts or omissions, including claims arising out of your use of the KL Bar Website and your submission, posting or transmission of the contents herein or your violation of the Terms and Conditions.
The contents of the KL Bar Website are protected by copyright and other applicable proprietary and intellectual property laws, and they shall remain the sole property of the Kuala Lumpur Bar and any third party. You must not reproduce or attempt to reproduce by any means whatsoever anything from the KL Bar Website, whether wholly or partly, without the prior express consent of the KLBC.
Subject to the above, you may, however, download and view the material or print a copy of material on the KL Bar Website for personal or non-commercial use provided you do not modify the copy from how it appears on this site (including any copyright notice). All rights not expressly granted under these Terms and Conditions are reserved.
The KL Bar Website may include third party content and this is subject to that third party’s terms of use and it is your duty to comply with the same.
You are also to note that unless you state accurately your name, NRIC No., residential address, office address (if any), contact number and, where applicable, name of organisation and organisation’s address and telephone number in your emails, we may not reply to you subject to our reservation of not responding at all to any emails without having to assign any reason whatsoever.
While you may place a link to our main page and not to any other web pages on your website provided your site does not promote profanity, pornography or unlawful purposes and is not involved in any illegality, we do not, however, permit any deep-link to our web pages.
If you wish us to have a link to your website on the KL Bar Website, you must first seek our prior express consent subject to our rights to charge, if necessary, a fee for such purpose.
The KL Bar Website may contain links to third parties’ websites or advertisements from third parties to which the KLBC and the KL Bar Website have no control or interest. In addition, it is hereby declared that the appearance of any third party’s links or advertisements on the KL Bar Website does not indicate or imply whatsoever that the KLBC and the KL Bar Website represent or warrant that that third party’s website and the products and services it is advertising on the KL Bar Website have complied with the relevant laws governing its business or the contents of its website.
The KLBC hereby repeats all the above disclaimers mutatis mutandis to your using such links to access or visit such third parties’ websites.
The members’ section is restricted to those who have been granted access with a pre-approved username or password. However, such access may be revoked at any time at KLBC’s sole discretion without being obligated to assign any reason whatsoever for the decision. An authorised user to this restricted section of the KL Bar Website shall be deemed to have agreed to the following when accessing the restricted section:
By undertaking a search on the Malaysian Bar members’ database through the Legal Directory section, you have also agreed not to use and/or disseminate any information requested and/or received by you for any commercial purpose or for the purpose of creating a data storage base or for any other purpose except for the sole purpose of locating a particular advocate and solicitor or a legal firm.
The governing law for the Terms and Conditions is the law of Malaysia irrespective of your current location or jurisdiction when accessing the KL Bar Website. The Terms and Conditions also apply irrespective of which of the domain addresses you have accessed the KL Bar Website whether it is www.klbar.org.my or www.klbar.my or www.klbar.net.my or www.klbar.com.my or www.klbar.org or www.klbar.net or www.klbar.com.
This Agreement comprises the entire agreement between KLBC and you, and supersedes all prior agreements or understandings with respect to the subject matter herein. The Terms and Conditions are subject to changes from time to time which shall take effect immediately upon the posting of the modified terms and conditions and thereafter references herein to “Terms and Conditions” shall include such modified terms and conditions. You agree to check this page every time you visit the KL Bar Website for any update. If any of the modified terms and conditions is unacceptable to you, you must discontinue accessing the KL Bar Website. Your use of and access to and/or continued use of and access to the KL Bar Website following the posting of such modified terms and conditions shall be deemed that you have accepted all such changes without any reservation.
