Parking At The Kuala Lumpur Court Complex

Parking At The Kuala Lumpur Court Complex

Dear Members of the KL Bar,
We refer to the above matter.
We have received several complaints regarding this issue which can be summarised as follows:
(a) insufficient bays;
(b) double parking of cars;
(c) obstruction of parked vehicles;
(d) damage to vehicles;
(e) theft of vehicles;
(f) inappropriate parking of vehicles due to the parking bay lines not being visible/wearing off;
(g) flooding during heavy rains.
We have taken various steps in the past 2 years to increase the availability of parking spaces and to address the issue of security.
We have previously informed Members that we requested for permission for Members to park within the BHEUU building but were informed that the building will be utilised by the AGC and Bahagian Teknologi Maklumat.
We are of the view that in order to provide Members with sufficient parking bays and security, there is a need for the construction of a multi-storey carpark.
We are pleased to inform that the KL Courts Administration and the Chief Registrar’s Office are of the same view. There is currently an opportunity available for any private entity to submit a proposal to Unit Kerjasama Awam Swasta (UKAS), Jabatan Perdana Menteri for the construction and management of a multi-storey carpark on any of the available plots of land in front of/adjacent to the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex which is owned by the Federal Government.
Should anyone be interested to submit a proposal, kindly forward the same to Unit Kerjasama Awam Swasta (UKAS), Jabatan Perdana Menteri, Putrajaya.
Members who have any queries may email the same to yati@klbar.org.my.
