Koh Chwee Hoe, or Charles Koh as he was more popularly known at the Bar, was born in Petaling Jaya on 5 September 1955. He had his early education in St John’s Institution, before proceeding to qualify as a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn in 1978.
He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur on 28 September 1979.
Charles practised in various law firms in Kuala Lumpur including Skrine & Co. and Mah-Kok & Din. He also practised briefly in Brunei as well as in the Republic of Singapore.
Charles was an extremely well liked member of the Bar. He was a hardworking and honest professional, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He passed away in Singapore on 10 March 1999 after a short illness, leaving behind his mother, two brothers and a sister to mourn their loss. His many friends within the Bar will also miss him a lot.
