Dear Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar,
The Criminal Law Practice Committee wrote to the Director of the Kuala Lumpur Courts to seek clarification regarding cases fixed for mentions / case managements at the Criminal Courts in Kuala Lumpur.
Clarification was sought in view of feedback by members that there were no further adjournments for mention cases and their matters were being heard despite the deteriorating Covid-19 situation.
The Kuala Lumpur Criminal Courts have responded that the Criminal Sessions Courts and Magistrates Courts have started mentioning criminal cases and members are encouraged to check the EFS system for the dates of their matters.

Dengan segala hormatnya saya diarah oleh Ybrs. Tuan Pengarah Mahkamah Kuala Lumpur untuk merujuk kepada perkara diatas dan surat tuan bertarikh 23.07.2021 yang di emel pada tarikh yang sama.
2. Adalah dimaklumkan Mahkamah Sesyen dan Majistret Jenayah telah mula menyebut kes-kes jenayah mengikut tarikh-tarikh yang ditetapkan terdahulu dan pihak-pihak perlu hadir ke Mahkamah melainkan pengecualian kehadiran ada diberikan atau suatu notis awal penangguhan telah dikeluarkan.
3. Sehubungan itu, semakan kepada sistem EFS perlu dibuat bagi memastikan peguam-peguam dapat membuat persediaan untuk hadir ke Mahkamah pada tarikh-tarikh yang telah ditetapkan.
