Dear YBGK Lawyers,
Please be informed that Jabatan Bantuan Guaman (“JBG”) will be conducting a trial run of the Borang Permohonan Interim / Perakuan Interim nationwide throughout August 2026.
As you may be aware, under the existing and forthcoming legal aid framework, legal representation provided by JBG and its panel lawyers is subject to the relevant application and certification process. In preparation for the implementation of the new framework, JBG is currently testing the Borang Permohonan Interim / Perakuan Interim.
During this trial period, lawyers who are handling pre-trial cases are encouraged, where convenient, to try using the Google Form and to provide JBG with any feedback, comments or suggestions for improvement.
For the avoidance of doubt, this is only a trial run conducted by JBG and the use of the form is not mandatory at this stage.
The YBGK scheme and the existing YBGK procedures remain unchanged. Lawyers are therefore still required to complete the YBGK Interview Sheet and Claim Form in accordance with the existing procedures.
Accordingly, upon completing your YBGK duty, and if you are still at court and wish to participate in the trial run, you may enter the relevant details of the OYDS/accused person in the JBG Google Form provided below.

JBG has also revised the form following feedback received from lawyers during its previous briefing, with the aim of making it simpler and easier to complete when it is implemented subsequently.
