To Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar,
We refer to the ongoing implementation of the Legal Aid and Public Defence Act 2026, and the transition of legal aid and public defence services to being administered under the Legal Aid Department (Jabatan Bantuan Guaman, “JBG”).
Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar who are interested in contributing towards legal aid and public defence services are invited to scan the relevant QR codes below and follow the steps set out in the registration forms to register as a JBG Panel Lawyer and/or Public Defence Panel Lawyer.
This initiative aims to expand the pool of panel lawyers to assist and represent persons requiring legal aid and public defence services under the new framework administered by JBG.
We encourage Members who are interested in legal aid and criminal defence work to participate in this initiative and support continued access to justice for the community.
