- Please be informed that the Kuala Lumpur Bar will be conducting an engagement session with the Legal Aid Department (Jabatan Bantuan Guaman). The purpose of the engagement session is to understand the absorption of the YBGK scheme by the Legal Aid Department, as well as its role and scope under the Legal Aid and Public Defence Act 2026.
- The details of the engagement session are as follows:-

2.2 Time: 2:30pm to 4:30 pm
2.3 Venue: Raja Aziz Addruse Auditorium, Level 2, Wisma Badan Peguam Malaysia 2 Leboh Pasar Besar 50050 Kuala Lumpur
- Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar, in particular lawyers who participate in the YBGK scheme, are invited and encouraged to attend the session. The session will provide an opportunity for members to participate in strategic discussions on the implementation of the Legal Aid and Public Defence Act 2026, and to gain a clearer understanding of the scope of assignments, the empanelment process, and the coordination of payment procedures.
- Interested members are required to register here by Wednesday, 20 May 2026. Please note that only registered members will be allowed to participate in the session.
