Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee 2026/2027 And Kuala Lumpur Bar Subscription For The Year 2026

Dear Members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar,

1. Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee 2026/2027

The 34th Annual General Meeting of the Kuala Lumpur Bar was held on 26 February 2026 (“34th AGM“). 206 members and 10 pupil in chambers registered their attendance for the 34th AGM.

At the 34th AGM, the following were elected to the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee (“KLBC”) for the 2026/2027 term: –

2. Kuala Lumpur Bar Subscription for the Year 2026

It was confirmed at the 34th AGM that the Kuala Lumpur Bar subscription for the year 2026 shall remain at RM125.00 per member.

Pursuant to Section 73(i) of the Legal Profession Act 1976, the above subscription is payable to the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee on or before 30 June 2026.

New Members

For those who only become members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar after the 34^th AGM, the subscription to be paid is set out below: –

1. Newly Admitted to the Bar / Not Previously in Practice

• Commencing practice before 1 July 2026: RM125.00
• Commencing practice from 1 July 2026 to 30 September 2026: RM62.50
• Commencing practice after 30 September 2026: Exempted

1. Resuming Practice In 2026

• RM125.00
• Submit a Statutory Declaration (which can be submitted and downloaded from the

Malaysian Bar Portal) together with the payment slip.

1. Previously Practising Outside Kuala Lumpur / Practising Outside of Kuala Lumpur but Now a Partner in a Kuala Lumpur Firm

• Commencing practice in Kuala Lumpur / appointed as partner before 1 July 2026: RM125.00
• Commencing practice in Kuala Lumpur / appointed as partner on or after 1 July: RM62.50
