His meaningful life began on 7 July 1973 and unfortunately ended on 3 August 2021, at 10.30pm at only 48 years old. Arwah Mohd Amir Sharil Bahari bin Md Noor returned to his Creator after battling Category 5 Covid-19 Pneumonia.
More affectionately known as Amir, he was a family man who happily cared for his family including his beloved wife and six beautiful children. Amir was the fourth child of Tuan Haji Md Noor bin Bahari, current Partner at Bahari & Bahari and Puan Hajjah Hasma binti Basir, former Educator and Chef. Amir, being a filial son, never failed to meet them daily whilst bearing gifts aplenty.
He studied at Victoria Institution between 1985 to 1990 and was a school prefect. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1997 after obtaining his LLB Bachelors in Law at the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He had also acquired a Master of Comparative Law, and post-graduate Diploma in Syariah and Legal practice from the same university. Lecturers still remember fondly how pleasant and polite he was and how he never failed to perform Dhuha prayers.
Amir was a man of many talents. His area of practice mainly covered Islamic Estate Planning (including Wasiyyah and Hibah), Islamic Family Law, Islamic Estate Distribution and Legal Negotiation. Amir had also been certified as a Mediator by the Bar Council Malaysian Mediation Centre.
Amir Bahari was also an active member of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee from the year 2013 as the Conveyancing Chair for the Corporate and Conveyancing Practice Committee in 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 and Environmental Chair in 2016/2017.
Amir never shied away from educating others. He wrote various books on law, namely Islamic Will (published by Telaga Biru) and Islamic Estate, Retirement and Waqf Planning (published by IBFIM), and 40 Tips on marriage (published by PTS) during his lifetime.
He gave talks on Islamic will at all states bar in both peninsula Malaysia and Sabah. He also gave various talks online and physically on legal matters to educate the public on important current issues. He believed in the betterment of life and society and knowing that he left the world with these gems of knowledge that will benefit others in the future is comforting.
Many know him for his smile, his tenderness, and his generosity. Undeniably, Amir was the life of any party he participated in. He grabbed the bull by its horns and would surpass any obstacle he faced with a grin and grit. His contagious laugh would pull you into ecstasy and he would welcome you in despite only knowing you for a few minutes.
Amir now leaves behind his beloved parents, his precious wife Ain, his loving children, his cherished relatives, treasured friends and a legacy that will always remain.
The world changes from year to year,
Our lives from day to day,
But the love and memory of you,
Shall never pass away.
