It has been brought to the attention of the KLBC Criminal Practice Committee (CPC) that in some criminal cases where the decisions were overturned at the appellate stage in favour of either the defence or the prosecution, no written grounds of judgments were given.
The CPC intends to raise the issue with the Judiciary and is currently compiling a list of such cases for the said purpose. To assist the CPC in compiling the said list, we urge all criminal law practitioners who have handled cases where the decisions were overturned/maintained at the appellate stage and no written grounds of judgments were given, to come forward and provide the details of these cases to the KL Bar Secretariat by e-mail to yati@klbar.org.my.
